Transference and Countertransference in Work with Traumatised Clients

Understanding the Relational Dynamics in Trauma Therapy
Motto: “Where words are lost in pain, the body and presence become the language of truth.”
This is not only about mechanisms – it is about meeting. Transference and countertransference in trauma work are inevitable echoes of old wounds, but also an opportunity to see them anew – with someone who does not look away.
Sometimes healing begins when we stay present not despite the pain, but precisely because of it.

Primary Capacities and Trauma

How Trauma Impacts Core Human Potential and Inner Development
Motto: “What was first wounded in us, longs to be born again.”
Trauma does not destroy human potential – it hides it, freezes it, obscures it. Yet, beneath the layers of pain, the capacity for love, trust, and meaning remains alive.
Therapy is not about building something new, but about allowing what was once silenced to find its voice again.

Drawing from the latest research and clinical practice, we will explore trauma-informed approaches, pacing and regulation techniques, body-based strategies, and the importance of therapeutic presence. Participants will gain tools to support safety, attunement, and healing in the therapeutic relationship.

Transgenerational Trauma

Invisible Threads: Inheriting Pain, Reclaiming Resilience
Motto: “Sometimes memory lives not in words, but in the body, in silence, in fear… and in dreams of something different.”
We inherit not only DNA but also silence, fractures, and the ways of seeing the world shaped by unspoken history. Transgenerational trauma does not have to be a sentence – it can become the beginning of a courageous conversation with a past longing for witnesses and healing.
Every act of remembering can also be an act of reclaiming life and connection.
The cost of participation in a series of lectures ( 5 lectures of 3 hours each), with access to the recording for 6 months is: 150 euro for WAPP members and 165 euro for all other participants.
